St. Patrick’s Day 2017

Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Foothills Brewing with the Winston-Salem Wolfhounds, your local Gaelic Football club.
There will be a traditional Irish band called Gòilín, some individual Irish musicians (including a guitarist and a bodhrán player), some Irish dancing (who knows ;D), a sample of Irish food, some Irish spot prizes and most importantly some Irish people…so you know this collectively means a really fun time or some good craic as we would say back home 🇮🇪.
Come celebrate the patron saint of Ireland and learn about the fantastic work we are doing to promote Gaelic sports and Irish culture in the Triad

If you have Facebook then click St. Patrick’s Day Event and show your interest in attending

Go raibh maith again!
(Thank you)

Wolfhounds & Yoga

The Wolfhounds are making Yoga a big part of the weekly training session this year and Kate Renganeschi has kindly offered to teach our players some techniques.

Kate is a certified RYT-500 yoga instructor. She received her training in both Costa Rica and Thailand. She mostly teaches vinyasa-based classes that focus on creating balance between strength and flexibility. She also enjoys teaching yin and restorative yoga, which focus on calming the mind and body. Kate teaches at Paz Studios (Trade Street, Downtown Winston), the William G. White Jr. YMCA, and Wake Forest University. She is also an elementary school teacher, is certified to teach children’s yoga and often teaches classes to both students and teachers in local schools. Her main vision as a teacher is to create fun and challenging classes to inspire others to begin their yoga journeys. Kate is always available for small group and private lessons. Continue reading

What a fantastic turnout for our first training session of 2017…I’m sure the weather helped as well :) Hopefully we can keep these numbers high throughout the rest of the year. I would also like to thank Kate for bringing the team through a much needed Yoga session as well. I know our team has a lot to do but we are definitely getting off on the right foot

Alzheimer’s Fundraiser at Finnigan’s Wake

trivia_tuesday_finnigansHi Everyone,
Just a reminder that we have our Fundraiser to benefit Wake Forest Aging and Alzheimer’s research tonight (Tues Nov 1st) at Finnigan’s Wake (620 Trade St).
The silent auction will begin at 8pm and the trivia will begin at 8:15pm. The winners of the silent action will be announced after the completion of the trivia. We have some wonderful gifts for the silent action and I’m sure people will not be disappointed and of course, all the funds will go towards a greatcause. We look forward to seeing everyone there tonight, so I encourage you to bring you family, friends and loved ones – especially the smarter people from your family, friends and love ones.
