Pub(lic) League – Game 2

We had a good turnout yesterday at our second Pub(lic) League game of 2017 with 18 people (Click ‘Read the rest of the entry’ to see some pics). After a messy first half – as most people would agree to :) – the second half produced some really great football. It was a bigeye opener for everybody, what “game speed” is really about. There was some tremendous passing of the ball and movement by players off the ball to get into scoring positions. It was all very positive and I am looking forward to the next game already

The Quiet Pint on 1420 W 1st St, W-S hosted our Après Match club gathering where we have time to talk about the game, tactics, benefits, suggestions, improvements and other non GAA related topics. This is a great way to analyze the way we are managing games and also allows players/supporters and fun environment to just hang out.

Special Thanks

  • To Kent & Janet who – to our delight – came out to watch their first live Gaelic Football game…hopefully they will come back. Nice job on the time keeping as well Kent!
  • To Jasim and Ghassen who are both on the injured list right now BUT who we hope to see out playing with us soon. Thanks for the support lads!
  • To David Hillman and all the staff at the Quiet Pint who were great hosts. They ensured all 15 of us got seated around the same tables and provided excellent service. The large beer selection and tasty food helps a lot as well :D

As we notch another game under our belt, players and spectators can only expect to see better and better performances, so I encourage all our players and soon to be players and supporters to try and participate in or watch a game soon. We only have two Pub(lic) League games left. This is also your best chance as our fist scheduled home game at the moment is not until Sat July 15th
